Dennis Chighisola is President/Director of New England Hockey Institute, founding NEHI in 1976.

Since that time, his programs -- including summer hockey schools, winter skills & powerskating courses and learn-to-skate/learn-to-play clinics -- have been among the most popular in the Northeast.

Head Coach of Team NEHI

"Coach Chic" is Head Coach of Team NEHI, which includes a Developmental Team (for grades 6, 7 and 8), a Junior High Selects Team (for grades 7, 8 and 9), and a High School Prep squad (for grades 10, 11 and 12). These programs are unique, in that they are aimed at year-round development.

The few openings available on each team are usually filled between January and March in anticipation of the coming year (since new teams begin gradual training in May).

Director - The MOTION Lab

The MOTION Lab is a unique off-ice training facility located in downtown Whitman, MA. Lab training is capable of enhancing almost any hockey skill or physical attribute. Here, Coach Chic works with players of all ages on their skating speed and power, their puckhandling and passing skills, their shooting quickness and strength, as well as their agility, speed, conditioning and explosive strength.

Dennis Chighisola is a former youth, high school and college head coach.

He holds a BS in Physical Education (with a Concentration in Coaching) and a Minor Degree in Instructional Media.

Coach Chic holds "Master Coach" certification with USA Hockey.

Many Chighisola innovations stem from his 1979 studies at the Moscow Institute for Sport & Physical Culture (in the old Soviet Union).

He has authored several training manuals, and pens advice columns for two hockey magazines and one on-line membership site.

Dennis is an inventor of several skill-oriented training devices.

After 37-years as a skills analyst and coach, a good many Chighisola-trained players have reached the NHL, other pro levels, and major college programs.

Dennis is known around the hockey world as "Coach Chic".
